The City of Homewood recognized that their aging community center was no longer able to meet the needs of their active and growing community. In response, the Davis team designed a new facility that will serve the community for decades to come.

The new community center features two full-size gyms surrounded by an elevated running track, two large fitness rooms, and a large weight and cardio exercise area with all new equipment. The facility also includes a large multi-purpose space that can serve as a community meeting venue or host their popular summer camp programs.

Another key component of the facility is a new community pool, with a 25-yard competition pool, an instructional and leisure pool with a vortex at one end, and a separate zero-entry wading pool for kids with sprinklers and a free-standing play structure. The pool is a separate and secure area from the rest of the community center, with a dedicated birthday party room, a full-service concessions stand, and a covered outdoor dining area.

In keeping with the goal of an environmentally friendly facility, the new Homewood Community Center has been designed to meet LEED Silver certification.
