Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility and Strength & Conditioning Facility

University of Alabama

Setting the elite standard for football facilities around the country.

When asked about the quality of Crimson Tide's facilities in June of 2012, Coach Nick Saban replied, "When people come to Alabama, they expect to see the best. We should always strive to have the best." The renovation to the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility was no different.

In order to make that high standard a reality, the facility underwent a major renovation on the first level, making use of the space provided by the previous weight room and locker room. Working closely with the coaches and staff, the area was transformed into a premier player development hub, completely unrivaled in the country. The new design allows for seamless transition between training, dressing, practice, team meetings, rehabilitation, and lounging.

Because the new team facilities replaced the existing weight room, a new, 34,500 sf strength and conditioning facility was constructed between the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility and the Hank Crisp Indoor Training Facility in order to better serve football and the rest of Crimson Tide's sports. The facility includes a weight room, cardio balcony, rehab area, offices, work room, medical suite, and nutrition bar. Coaches can roll up the garage style doors to enjoy a completely open connection to the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility.

The new team facility offers a theater-style, 175 seat team meeting room and 8 position meeting rooms of various size. Immediately adjacent is a team lounge featuring soft seating, gaming areas, televisions, pool tables, ping pong, and foosball. Also inside the team lounge is a nutrition bar stocked with everything a player needs to stay hydrated and nourished. The expanded team locker room features wider lockers, updated finishes, and a spa with two 40' hot and cold pools, waterfalls, and televisions.
