Sullivan-Cooney Family Field House
Samford University
Nestled in a picturesque valley, Samford University's Seibert Stadium is home to the university's football program. To support its growing needs and recruit top-level talent, Samford directed the Davis team to design a modern field house that responded to the latest trends in athletic training, while also respecting the traditional campus setting.
After several studies, the team concluded the site along the north end of the existing stadium bowl was ideal. The three-story, 39,000 sf field house includes a locker room, team lounge, weight room, training room, team meeting room, and equipment room on the first level. On the second level, coaches offices and a film room sit adjacent to an exterior viewing deck. Lastly, the third level was left unfinished as future expansion space.
Fittingly, the exterior design respects the traditional Georgian-colonial standards of the rest of the campus. The second level deck allows space for tailgating activities and additional viewing opportunities. The new field house provides a stunning backdrop for the Bulldogs.
